Oh Middle School, where is thy sting?

Tonight I attended the children's very first choral concert. It was a festive affair. The Boy One wore a blue tie. The Girl One tried desperately to keep her bra from showing over the top of her dress.

There were more children on the stage, in the choir, than in my entire sixth grade. All classes combined. Possibly even in the entire middle school I attended. Sixth through eighth grade.

They looked very, very small on the stage among all those kids.

I do not know how they summon the courage to walk through those huge doors every day. Much less the cheerful way they walk through...the positive attitudes they have.

I admire them more and more every day.

Hey Stephanie! I stumbled across your old blog and spent about an hour reading it! I love your voice! I just started my blog and it's not very good yet but I'm having fun with it.

I totally agree about middle school......some of the worst years! I'm in my mid 2o's now and I can still remember how crappy some of those times were. But there were good times, too. We all survive some how, especially with the help of good parents. Your kids sound awesome.

I think Boy & Girl Child both know how strong their mama is and how courageous she has been. They get that courage from you. And yes, they are to be admired. Children are amazing.

Kids are resilient for sure. If you had been at a big school you would have done fine as well. You are raising some great kids there!

I went to an old-school junior high. Grades seven through nine. It was a freak show and horror movie every. friggin'. day.

Bless their hearts, that's all I'm sayin'.

I still can't get over how small my boys look with their backpacks on, I can't even imagine what it'll be like when they hit middle school.
