He learned it by watching me, all right? He learned it by watching me!

Tonight, at dinner:

Me: Can you pass me the butter?

Boy Child: Sure.

Me: Thanks.

Boy Child: Did you know that's not really butter? It's 'Butter it's not'.

(Yes, that's really the name of it. It's generic "I can't believe it's not butter". We struggle in style in this house)

Me: Yeah. Weird.

We eat silently for a moment and then he says:

Mom? Isn't everything that's not butter pretty much 'Butter it's not'?


Me: I guess so, son.


Boy Child, after a moment: Now that's just bad marketing mom. Right?



You know that's right.

The whole convo kinda huts my head. lol. I mean he = smart but the fact there is a "butter, it's not" makes me want to laugh a lot.
