I figured out why I don't have any friends.

(Okay, I figured out ONE of the likely MANY reasons I don't have any friends. Whatever.)

I have no idea how to talk to people.

I don't know if this is because I'm just extremely socially awkward or because I've worked from home for so long that I forget how to act right or because I suck or some combination of those three things,  but...yeah. I have no idea how to talk to people anymore.

I realized that this weekend when I met someone for the first time and they were nice, pleasant and appropriate and this is a pretty accurate representation of how I acted:

I swear I am interested in the lives of others. I swear I am sometimes funny and smart and able to hold reasonably intelligent discussions about a large variety of topics. I swear I am not a blathering idiot who either says completely the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time and/or an idiot who just stands there and has absolutely nothing to say even when directly asked a question.

I don't know what to do about anything anymore.

My favorite this-really-happened example of this for me:

Them: "Wow! I really like your hat. It looks so warm!"

Me: "Yeah! You don't have much hair at all!"

We all need tshirts that say socially awkward or something... then no one will ask....
