"So tomorrow," the Boy One said last night, "we'll make our signs. For your walk."
"Yes, that sounds good."
"Mom? What kind of cancer does Poppaw have?"
"He has bladder cancer."
"Oh. Do they have a walk for that?"
"I don't know. Maybe."
"If they do, I'm going to walk the Hell out of it!"
"Okay, good."
"Mom? Can I still draw boobs on my sign?"
"No honey."
"Aww. It would be hilarious though mom."
"I know hon. But mom is having a hard life these days. She doesn't need anyone calling the law on her."
"Okay then."
"Okay."

You know how much I needed a giggle. I love you peeps.
Come on, Mom! Let him draw some boobies. It'll be cute, ya know?
;-)
Oh my. He's a hoot!
Awww, that's so sweet that he cares so much.
I think they should have a site that lists different walks/runs for different cancers, my husband keeps asking why I never run for melanoma (that's the cancer he has) but I can't find any races for it, if I knew of one I would totally do it. I did a run for a cancer center here and told him that would have to do for now..lol. If I see anything for bladder cancer though I'll be sure to shoot you an email with a link.
you should at least by him the hat that says "I'm here for the boobs" - it's very cute, pink ribbon and all :)
I think it's wonderful that he is so excited for this walk and is looking for other ways to help. so many kids WANT to be a part of something bigger and just don't know where to start.
and my dad had bladder cancer as well - we are still dealing with complications because he was so young when it was dx'd.
best of luck!
I bet he would walk the hell out of it.
And? He's pretty much right. Hilarious.
I think it's awesome that your kids are so involved in this wonderful event you are doing!
It's great.
They should totally make signs that say "My Mom Walks for BEWBIES!!!!"
yay boy child!
